Updating SnailyCADv4

How you update depends on how you installed the CAD.

One-line install: Ubuntu (standalone)

Use Admin → Dashboard → Update CAD in the CAD. It pulls the latest code and rebuilds; while it builds, the website shows a progress page instead of an error.

From the terminal instead:

cd /opt/snailycad/app
sudo git pull
sudo systemctl restart snailycad

The snailycad service rebuilds when the code changed. Follow it with tail -f /opt/snailycad/app/start.log.

Docker (one-line install or by hand)

cd /opt/snailycad/app   # or the folder you cloned into
git pull
docker compose -f production.docker-compose.yml build
docker compose -f production.docker-compose.yml up -d

Run these as root (or with sudo) for a one-line install. The old containers keep running while the new images build. See Docker: updating.

MySQL / MariaDB by hand

git pull
./start.sh

Or use Admin → Dashboard → Update CAD when the CAD runs as a systemd service on Linux. See MySQL / MariaDB: updating.
